Igor Dzhura is Educated from National Kiev University

Igor Dzhura is a medical professional who has worked for SUNY Department of Medicine & Joslin Diabetes Center, Syracuse NY. In his two years at this center, he served the position of a Senior Research Associate. He was involved in various duties such as Modulators of β-cell glucose signaling in Diabetes using following methods: e-phys, calcium imaging, isolation of islets of Langerhans and β-cells from mice/rat pancreas, ELISA assay, Glucose stimulated insulin secretion assay, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot.  He also did study of calcium signaling in pancreatic β-cells, investigated the localization and characterization of specific proteins. In this research using fluorescent and confocal microscopy, siRNA/shRNA lentiviral transduction, creating genetically encoding biosensors.


Igor Dzhura completed his education from National Kiev University, Kyiv, Ukraine. He did Master’s of Science (Major in Biophysics) and Bachelor degree (Major in Biology/Chemistry. He worked with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN for 8 years. He was responsible for regulation of cardiac calcium channel by CAMKII (electrophysiology, cell culture, transfection, PCR, cardiomyocytes isolation, animal husbandry, PCR, etc.). Prior to joining this center, he served as a Research Associate at the Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology, Kyiv, Ukraine. At this institute, he studied T-type (Cav3.2) channels: regulation, properties, pharmacology (electrophysiology, RNA/DNA isolation, cell culture, etc.).

Igor Dzhura likes playing soccer and running. He indulges in these activities when he is free from work. According to him, participation in physical activities is important to keep the body fit and healthy. Sports are considered as the best activities to participate in when it comes to health and fitness. When you play sports, not only legs, but other muscle groups such as shoulders, back, arms, etc. also function contributing towards overall fitness. It is not about you should play sports for 2-3 hours a day. Just take out 30-45 minutes for sports, and you will see good results in a few days.

Igor Dzhura Explains Why Sports Are Necessary

Igor Dzhura is a highly experienced, skilled medical professional who holds a master’s of science degree from National Kiev University. He has comprehensive knowledge of different medical research areas, and has been involved in numerous projects. He has strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and interpersonal skills, which helped him accomplish the research projects efficiently. In his over 10 years of experience, he has successfully designed, optimized, and implemented assay protocols and managed external collaborations and CROs. From 2010 to 2014, Igor worked for Navartis/NIBR as a Scientist II in Cambridge, MA. He fulfilled all his responsibilities to the best of his abilities, and as a result, he was awarded with SPOT Award.


In addition to work, Igor Dzhura also likes participating in a variety of sports such as soccer and running. He believes that sports are the important parts of everyone’s life; they help in developing certain set of life skills. Sports can teach you how to collaborate with your team mates to achieve the common goals and objectives. Sports are fun activities, which allow people enjoy their time with their friends and family. Both morning and evening times are good, and you can choose as per your own preferences.

Sports are considered as the best stress relievers making participants feel good. Igor Dzhura says that sports provide lots of health benefits such as improved cardiovascular health, controlled body weight, improved stamina and strength, toned muscles, etc. So, it is advisable to include sports in your daily schedule to stay active throughout the day.
